About Us

What is AMHL?

The Association of Mental Health Librarians (AMHL) is a professional organization of individuals working in the field of mental health information. Its members come from a variety of settings: inpatient hospitals, academic and research institutions, psychiatric and psychological agencies, and more. AMHL provides opportunities for its members to enhance their professional skills and strengthens the role of the librarian within the mental health community. A highlight of the Association is its annual conference, which provides continuing education and networking possibilities for its members.

Librarians and any other individuals interested in the field of mental health librarianship are eligible to join. MLIS students with an interest in mental health are welcome as well.

Membership & Renewal dues are $30.00 for the current calendar year only (January to December).
