About the Location: Ybor City was founded by Cuban cigar-maker Vincente Martinez Ybor, who made Tampa the "cigar capital of the world" in 1886. Ybor City retains its distinctive character in several landmarks, including Ybor Square, now an historic marketplace of shops and restaurants and the important Columbia Restaurant founded in 1905, a dazzling collection of dining rooms and entertainment.
